Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport has officially reopened for private jets as of July 11, 2024. This reopening comes after nearly eight years of closure and extensive redevelopment. The airport now features an extended runway of 2,000 meters, allowing it to accommodate a wide range of aircraft, from very light jets to ultra long-range jets. Additionally, a new general aviation terminal for private jets is expected to be completed by the end of 2025
Located approximately 20 kilometers from Salerno city and under 30 miles from Amalfi, the airport offers a more convenient alternative to Naples International Airport, reducing the need for lengthy train or coach journeys. This development is expected to ease congestion at Naples Airport and provide better access to the Amalfi Coast and nearby attractions like Capri, Ravello, and Pompeii
Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport also aims to boost local economic growth by attracting more tourists and investments, stimulating tourism-related industries, and providing employment opportunities
The airport’s design emphasizes sustainability, integrating state-of-the-art technology to minimize carbon emissions and enhance energy efficiency
For private jet travelers, this reopening marks a significant improvement in accessing the picturesque Amalfi Coast, known for its dramatic landscapes, turquoise waters, and charming villages
