This small, picturesque island boasts an amazing religious history. According to the Bible, in 95 AD, John the Divine stayed on the island of Patmos. He had a vision in a cave and that was where he wrote the Book of Revelations. Thousands of pilgrims travel to Patmos each year to the main town’s monastery that dates back to the 10th century. It famously features diabolical friezes of demons and hell.
Besides its spiritual nature, Patmos is breathtaking to discover on the ground and via the sky. It’s perimeter features dazzling blue coves and pretty beaches. The island’s landscape is sloped with green mountains. Visitors love discovering Skala which is a stylish harbor buzzing with activity from great shopping, restaurants and views.
