Sustainable Aero Lab is hosting its inaugural Sustainable Aero Festival in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on December 2-3, 2024. The event, attended by AeroTime, will bring together leaders in aviation sustainability to discuss current technologies and emerging policies shaping a greener future.
Over two days, participants will engage in networking and discussions focused on the innovations that are moving the aviation industry towards sustainability. Lukas Kastener, co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Sustainable Aero Lab, explained to AeroTime that «The Sustainable Aero Festival will provide honest insights into the future of flight, create new personal connections with industry changemakers, and inspire visions for the future of aviation.»
Notable attendees will include C-level executives from Embraer, KLM, RTX, and EU Clean Aviation, the European Union’s organization supporting the industry’s decarbonization efforts. As an accelerator for startups, Hamburg-based Sustainable Aero Lab aims to connect emerging sustainable aviation companies with venture capital and investors.
Early-stage investors, such as JetBlue Ventures (the venture arm of U.S. airline JetBlue) and Breakthrough Energy (a venture firm backed by Bill Gates), are expected to play a prominent role at the festival, highlighting the potential for clean energy investments in the aviation sector.
